news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics_2004/gymnastics/3590034.stmBulgaria have launched an appeal against the result of the men's rings final, which was held on Sunday. Dimosthenis Tampakos of Greece won the event by just 0.012 of a point. The Bulgarians are claiming that the scoring was incorrect and that their gymnast Jordan Jovtchev, who was awarded silver, should have won gold. Bulgaria team spokeswoman Zdravka Jordanova said that Tampakos had been credited with too high a degree of difficulty for his routine. "The judge's result was not correct. What the Greek did was much easier," Jordanova said.
