She finished third in her heat in a time of 25.36 seconds behind powerful American Kara Lynn Joyce. Dutch world record holder and defending Olympic champion Inge de Bruin went fastest overall in 24.66 secs. "It's been a long wait but I'm glad to get in the pool and blow the cobwebs away. I want to do better than my seventh in Sydney," Sheppard said.
