Britain's Laurence Godfrey advanced to the quarter-finals of the men's individual 70m archery on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old produced an accomplished performance to beat Viktor Ruban of the Ukraine 167-162.
Godfrey fired two maximum scores of 10 on the sixth and final end to clinch his place in the last eight.
He will now face Chen Szu-Yuan of Taiwan, who beat Russia's Balzhinima Tsyrempilov 169-161, for a place in the semi-finals.
