The family of Dublin-born Iraqi aid worker Margaret Hassan believes she has been killed by hostage-takers.
Mrs Hassan has lived in Iraq for 30 years and married an Iraqi
In a joint statement the family said they accepted her death, adding: "Our hearts are broken."
Mrs Hassan, who has Irish, British and Iraqi nationality, was seized in Baghdad on 19 October.
Michael, Deirdre, Geraldine and Kathryn Fitzsimons, brothers and sisters of Mrs Hassan, described her as a "friend of the Arab world" in the statement.
