The awards, which honour achievements in film, TV and music, are voted for by the American public.
Mel Gibson was the favourite film actor while movie star Tom Hanks was named favourite all-time entertainer.

The awards are decided by public polling by Gallup and entirely reflect fans' preferences.
The surprise vote was for favourite film which went to Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl over The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.
Actor Jim Carrey was on hand to accept the award for Bruce Almighty, as most popular film comedy. In the movie, he plays a man given the powers of God.
Oprah Winfrey was named favourite TV talk show host while CSI: Crime Scene Investigation took home the People's Choice honour for favourite TV drama.
In musical categories, Beyonce' Knowles and Faith Hill shared the award for favourite female performer while country star Tim McGraw was the voters' choice for most popular male recording star.
