A pensioner has collapsed and died after chasing youths who were pelting his home with eggs during Halloween night.
Police are treating the death as suspicious.
Cheshire Police said youths were throwing eggs at the home of an elderly couple on the Hallwood Park estate in Runcorn at about 0730 GMT on Friday.
A police spokesman said the 73-year-old man chased a number of them away - but collapsed and died a short distance away.
Police say they are treating the death as suspicious - and have arrested three juveniles.
They are asking anyone who saw what happened to contact them - by ringing Runcorn CID on 01244 613 933 - or the anonymous Crimestoppers line - on 0800 555 111.
