Hollywood actor Christian Slater's wife Ryan Haddon has been arrested after allegedly hitting the actor with a glass in a Las Vegas hotel room.
Slater, star of films such as Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, received stitches after the incident on Monday but did not press charges, police said.
Haddon, 31, a television producer, was taken by police to the Clark County jail on a misdemeanour battery charge.
She was released without bail after a mandatory 12-hour detention.
Haddon was arrested at 7am (3pm GMT) on Monday at the Hard Rock hotel-casino.
Slater, 34, originally said his wife had thrown the glass at him but "changed his story and said it was an accident" when told his wife could go to jail, police spokeswoman Carla Alston said.
Stitches
The actor said that the glass had slipped from his wife's grip when she was throwing water over his face.
Ms Alston said the actor had been cut on the back of his head and the injury required more than 20 stitches.
A spokeswoman for the actor denied this report, saying the wound had only needed nine stitches. She said Slater had left Las Vegas to begin shooting a film in Vancouver, Canada.
Slater and Haddon were married in February 2000, and the couple have a son and a daughter.
Slater's career has included roles in film such as The Name of the Rose, Hard Rain, Broken Arrow, Windtalkers and Murder in the First.
