Michael Barrymore is reportedly quitting the UK to start a new life with his boyfriend in New Zealand. The ex-Strike It Lucky star has a TV show lined up there, according to The Sun. His lover, 28-year-old Shaun Davis, is also a Kiwi, it points out. Barrymore's career has flopped in the UK since partygoer Stuart Lubbock died in his swimming pool in Roydon, Essex, two years ago. Tickets for his one-man show in London failed to sell - and he is said to owe £1.5m to the taxman. The paper adds he is leaving the country following another bust-up with his ex-wife, Cheryl. It claims Barrymore's friends asked her to help resurrect his career but he refused her offer. It quotes Cheryl as saying: "I have heard that he wants to emigrate and feel that is possibly the best course of action." It also quotes one of Barrymore's friends as claiming: "Michael wants to start afresh on the other side of the world."
