Final preparations are under way as Edinburgh gears up for the MTV Europe Awards.
The stars who have arrived in the Scottish capital for the 10th anniversary event include Kylie Minogue, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake and host Christina Aguilera.
People in 28 countries are expected to watch the show, which will also feature performances by Beyonce, Pink and Black Eyed Peas.
MTV has also laid on a free concert in Edinburgh featuring Jane's Addiction, The Chemical Brothers, The Flaming Lips and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club for those unable to get in to the event.
The awards ceremony will get under way at the Ocean Terminal Arena in Leith at 2000 GMT on Thursday.
The 2,000 tickets for the event sold out in just 14 minutes, with fans queuing through the night to get their hands on the final 50 when they were made available on Wednesday.
Every hotel room in the city is booked and 120 limousines are being laid on to ferry the stars to the venue.
Justin Timberlake, who is presenting an award, has been nominated for best male, best new act, best pop, best single and best album.
He will be up against Craig David, Eminem, Robbie Williams and Sean Paul in the best male category.
Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Kylie Minogue, Madonna and Pink are the nominees in the best female category.
Kylie is also expected to give a Star Wars-themed performance of her new single, Slow.
Action star Vin Diesel will feature in a series of comedy sketches between presentations.
Britney Spears, who had been due to present an award, pulled out at the last minute due to ill health.
