Horror spoof Scary Movie 3 remained top of the North American box office chart for a second weekend, according to studio estimates.
The comedy - which spoofs recent films like Signs and The Ring - grossed $21m (£12.4m) between Friday and Sunday.
Disney cartoon Brother Bear, released nationwide on Saturday, took the number two slot with $18.5m (£10.9m).
The only other new entry in the top ten was Meg Ryan's erotic thriller In the Cut, which entered the chart at ten.
Scary Movie 3 - featuring guest spots from Pamela Anderson, Queen Latifah and Leslie Nielsen - had posted the record October opening the week before with $48.1m (£30.6m), according to analysts Exhibitor Relations.
The film has so far made $78.6m (£50m), more than Scary Movie 2 made during its entire run.
The remake of the horror classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre slipped to third with takings of $10.9m (£6.9m).
The film had previously topped the charts, making more than $29m (£18.5m) in its first three days of release. It cost only $9.5m (£6m) to make.
In fourth place was Radio, the Cuba Gooding Jr film about a mentally ill man who tries to help his local football team.
The big-screen version of the John Grisham court-room drama Runaway Jury, which took $6.8m (£4.3m), was at fifth place.
At sixth was Mystic River, the Clint Eastwood directed drama starring Sean Penn. The film took $6.2m (£3.9m).
