Sir Alex Ferguson has categorically denied claims that Roy Keane was left out of Manchester United's tour of Asia following a bust-up between the two.
The pair were reported to have fallen out over the club's pre-season trip to Portugal which families were also allowed to attend.
The Republic of Ireland international, who famously stormed out of his country's World Cup finals campaign in 2002 following a row with then manager Mick McCarthy over the quality of facilities on offer, was purportedly unhappy that wives and children were also travelling on what he perceived as an intense training camp.
The 33-year-old's advisor Michael Kennedy yesterday denied the story, branding it 'without foundation', and Ferguson has also now moved to dismiss a rift.
The United boss insists Keane has not made the trip to Asia because of injury rather than disciplinary action.
"Roy Keane is injured, it is as simple as that," Ferguson told reporters ahead of Tuesday's game with Beijing Hyundai.
"You can't travel if you are injured. There is nothing else to say."
Keane is said to be suffering from a hamstring complaint, but is expected to be fit for the start of the new Premiership campaign.
Meanwhile, Ferguson has revealed that Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo has linked up with the United squad in Asia after being given time off to visit his ill father and added he could feature in tomorrow's game.
"Cristiano arrived this morning," Ferguson continued.
"He won't start the game tomorrow. He may play a part but it won't be any more than 20 minutes."
