www.leedsunited.comLeeds United have today completed the signing of Angolan international defender Rui Marques. The 27-year-old had already agreed a two year contract but his move was held up whilst United waited for medical record to arrive. All that is left now for the centre-half to begin his Elland Road career is for his international clearance to arrive, and as such Marques is unavailable for tomorrow's pre-season friendly at Barnsley. Born in Angola, Marques began his career with Benfica, then had spells in Germany with Hertha Berlin and Stuttgart, before returning to the Portuguese SuperLiga with Maritimo last season. The player is looking forward to beginning his playing in the Championship with the Whites, saying"Leeds is a big club, it's really a Premier League club and I believe that Leeds will be in the Premiership again. "I had some difficult times after Germany, but I think England will be a new start for me. I think it will be very interesting for me to play in England and I believe I have a lot to offer."
