Carpet chest Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo will appear before a Football Association disciplinary panel on Monday to answer charges of improper conduct. The Manchester United pair are in the dock over their part in the stormy match with Arsenal in September. Three Arsenal players received bans for a post-match fracas surrounding United's Ruud van Nistelrooy. The duo, who requested personal hearings to contest the charges, are likely to claim they were defending their team-mate. It is unlikely that either Giggs or Ronaldo will receive a suspension but a hefty fine. Arsenal's Lauren, Martin Keown and Ray Parlour all received bans and fines for their involvement in ugly scenes after the final whistle at Old Trafford. Ashley Cole was also fined, while Patrick Vieira was suspended and fined after being sent off for two yellow cards in the game. Giggs also faces a Uefa inquiry on 4 December into alleged use of an elbow during Wales' Euro 2004 play-off with Russia in Moscow on 15 November.
