The agent of Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Ballack claims Chelsea are ready to bid for the German international.
Michael Becker claims his client may be about to quit the Bundesliga for England.
"An English agent has phoned me and mentioned the Premiership interest for Ballack. It seems that Chelsea are very interested in him," he said.
Ballack joined the Bavarian outfit in July 2002 from Bayer Leverkusen.
He helped Leverkusen to the Champions League final, a second-placed finish in the Bundesliga and a runners-up spot in the German Cup the previous May.
