Two Dundee players have been arrested and charged with assault following an alleged incident in the city centre on Monday morning. Nacho Novo and Brent Sancho were arrested along with another man in the city's South Ward Road at about 0300 GMT.
Police have confirmed that three men were involved in an alleged incident and that they have been charged and a report sent to the procurator fiscal.
It is expected that they will appear in court on Wednesday.
Spaniard Novo is the club's top scorer this season with 14 goals, while Trinidad and Tobago international defender Sancho has been dogged by injury and has only made four appearances since his summer arrival.
Meanwhile, Dundee Football Club has gone into administration following an application to the Court of Session.
The court has sanctioned the appointment of Tom Burton and Fiona Taylor, of Ernst and Young, as joint administrators.
They will be responsible for restructuring the club's operations and debts which are believed to be in the region of £20m.
Mr Burton has described the club's financial position as "critical" and that a solution will not be easy to find.
