Real Madrid defender Michel Salgado has been made a "spectacular offer" to join Chelsea, according to the Spanish club's president.
Full-back Salgado is out of contract with Madrid at the end of the season.
"If Michel was my son I would recommend that he sign for Chelsea," Florentino Perez is quoted as saying in the Daily Star.
"He has until the start of next week to make his decision and accept a new contract.
"We have made a fantastic offer but we understand he has been made a spectacular offer."
