www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/feb16h.htmlSinisa Mihajlovic is hoping to join the Inter coaching staff once he retires from the game in the summer. The 37-year-old will hang up his boots at the end of the season but intends to remain at the San Siro. “I’ll stop playing football at the end of May,” he told the Corriere dello Sport newspaper on Thursday. “I want to get my badges and then I’ll start my coaching career here at Inter. I will join Roberto Mancini’s technical staff. We have been talking about it for years.” The sometimes-controversial defender has enjoyed a relatively successful playing career after beginning his trade at Vojvodina in the former Yugoslavia. He then caught the eye of a number of top clubs thanks to his fine performances at Red Star Belgrade. The former international joined Roma in 1992 before signing for Sampdoria, where he was converted from a midfielder to a stopper by Sven Goran Eriksson. It was while at Marassi where Mihajlovic established his great friendship with Mancini, who was then a player. The two men teamed up again at Lazio before the tactician specifically requested Inter to net him in the summer of 2004.
