www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/oct10h.htmlInter are now in pole position to sign Michel Salgado from Real Madrid, according to reports in Italy. The Spaniard was being heavily linked with a January move to Juventus, but the Nerazzurri are the new favourites to land the defender. Juve no longer seem to need another right-back, given the successful transformation of Manuele Blasi from a midfielder into a full-back. While Inter do need another player in that position as they only have Javier Zanetti in that role – who is currently injured. Whispers in the peninsula suggest that agent Ernesto Bronzetti has already commenced talks between the two clubs. Real have previously dismissed claims of a Salgado exit even though they will complete the capture of Brazilian wing-back Cicinho in the New Year. Salgado, 31, could become the fifth Real player to move to Inter in recent times after the captures of Esteban Cambiasso, Santiago Solari, Walter Samuel and Luis Figo. The Madrid-based stopper has also been associated with a possible move to Manchester United.
