www.leedsunited.comUnited boss Kevin Blackwell has revealed that Rob Hulse will be out of action for longer than was first expected. The striker picked up an ankle ligament injury in the pre-season game against Haugesund in Norway last week and it was initially hoped he would be back in full training a week or so later. But after further examination the ankle problem looks set to keep the £1.1m signing in the treatment room for a few more weeks yet. "It's a little bit worse than we thought, " said Blackwell. "After having a scan on him it showed that the ligament damage is a bit worse, and so he might take a little bit longer to recover than we initially thought. "I wouldn't rule him out for the start of the season or anything like that though just yet, but at the same time we won't take any risks and rush him back." In other injury news, Steve Stone is recovering well from his achilles injury but is facing a race against time to be fit for the start of the season. "We are taking it on a day by day basis and hopefully he will be back sooner rather than later," said Blackwell. Winger Eddie Lewis has a slight knock that is likely to see him rested from Wednesday night's trip to Darlington as a precaution.
