Serie A Week 4 - 21/9/05 (19.30 UK)
Stadio Bentegodi
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chievo are quickly becoming this season’s surprise package. After claims that they no longer had the ability of the famous Flying Donkeys, they have racked up six points in their first three games. It could have been more but for a narrow defeat to Juventus in Week 1, but given the Bianconeri’s early form a mere 1-0 loss now seems a very good result. Although they will have to be on top form against the Nerazzurri, the Bentegodi outfit could provide a shock result once again given their home advantage.
Inter have started the season consistently inconsistent. While this may be a familiar story to the San Siro tifosi, few can argue with the way they tore Treviso and Lecce apart. But while at home they have two 3-0 wins under their belt, away from home it has been a different story. Their only trip so far resulted in a 3-2 loss to Palermo. While the win at the weekend may have quietened the concerns being voiced over Coach Roberto Mancini, he will be hoping that Week 2’s Sicilian incident was just a glitch rather than the first signs of a poor away record.
With Sinisa Mihajlovic, Santiago Solari and captain Javier Zanetti all still injured, Inter may start with the same side that banged three goals past Lecce. This will no doubt disappoint Julio Cruz after his recent goal streak, scoring three in his last two Serie A games. However, he could come in if Adriano is rested. Chievo will make some changes though after Federico Cossato succumbed to injury, meaning that Carvalho Amauri will start. The only other change sees Marco Malago come in for Lorenzo D’Anna who is suspended after his red card against Reggina.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chievo (probable): Fontana; Moro, Mandelli, Malago, Lanna; Semioli, Brighi, Giunti, D Franceschini; Pellissier, Amauri
Inter (probable): Julio Cesar; Ze Maria, Cordoba, Materazzi, Favalli; Figo, Cambiasso, Veron, Stankovic; Adriano, Martins
