www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/sep4h.htmlWith Javier Zanetti out for two months, it is up to Jose Ze Maria to take over Inter’s full-back duties in a role he is no longer accustomed to. “I will have to get used to playing as a right-back again and our friendly test against Udinese was an important step in that direction,” he said of the 2-1 Pirelli Cup defeat. “Thanks to the international break I’ll have the time to work on this in training so that I can be ready when the Coach needs me. I’ll be 100 per cent prepared by Saturday.” It’s believed the Brazilian, who has become a valuable winger during the last few years at Perugia and Inter, will start in Zanetti’s position for the Serie A clash with Palermo next weekend. A long-term solution must be found quickly, as the Argentine stalwart will be out for at least the next six weeks with a muscular problem. “The club did not bring in another defender despite Zanetti’s injury and that made it clear that they have faith in me,” he added. “I will do everything I can to ensure the captain is not missed, although that will be difficult. If I do well enough for the Nerazzurri, I could also return to the Brazil squad.” Roberto Mancini will also have Kily Gonzalez ready to come in after he finally recovered from an injury sustained during a friendly against Bordeaux on July 23.
