I HAVE A SIMILAR FEELING ALSO MATE BUT CAN WE NOT SAY ANYTHING ELSE ABOUT IT TILL THE FAT LADY SINGS. ;D
Inter have already picked up two trophies with Roberto Mancini and patron Massimo Moratti hopes the Scudetto will follow suit.
“This could be the right season for important results and memorable achievements in the Nerazzurri colours,” said the oil baron.
Moratti has poured money into the club since taking over in 1995, but had managed just one UEFA Cup victory before Mancini arrived to win the Coppa Italia and Supercup.
Now the side has its sights set on greater things and the Champions League draw suggests Europe could be on the agenda.
“It certainly could’ve been worse,” smiled Moratti at picking Glasgow Rangers, Artmedia Bratislava and Porto out of the hat. “We must nonetheless maintain concentration, because there’s no such thing as an easy game nowadays.”
Their Scudetto challenge begins on Sunday afternoon against Serie A debutants Treviso, but Walter Samuel is sidelined by a three-match ban for spitting at Pavel Nedved during the Italian Supercup clash.
“We are faced with a trial of his intentions rather than his actions,” slammed President Giacinto Facchetti. “The situation was not evaluated in an objective manner, especially on appeal. We provided the Disciplinary Commission with new footage showing there were at least three metres between them.”
Samuel maintains he was spitting at the ground and not in Nedved’s direction, while the Juve player also admits he did not notice anything unusual at the time.
“The images clearly show that it was merely a false perspective that made it appear as if Samuel was spitting straight at Nedved. With this in mind, we will take our appeal to the CAF.”
