www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/aug5b.htmlThe Nigerian Football Federation have apologised to Inter regarding the confusion over Obafemi Martins’ date of birth. There was speculation that the striker could in fact be older than previously thought, after the African nation’s website stated that the ace was born on 1 May 1978. Inter wrote to the Federation asking for them to amend their details, seeing as the youngster was actually born on 28 October 1984. The African nation have conceded that they made an error and have apologised to the Italian giants. "Our Federation is responsible," read a statement. "We would like to apologise to Martins for this. We thank Inter and wish them well." Martins, who was born in Lagos, has been in Italy for the last five years after spending one term with Reggiana before moving north. He is now a first team regular after being promoted from the Inter youth team squad thanks to his scary pace and goal touch.
