The Nerazzurri’s already shaky form has been further hit by an injury to Colombian international Ivan Cordoba.
The experienced defender underwent tests this evening which highlighted a sprain to the left knee and slight ligament damage.
Club doctors have ordered at least seven days of complete rest, so Cordoba will miss out on Sunday’s clash with Siena and is also a risk for the Coppa Italia semi-final against Juventus.
Thomas Helveg also limped off during the 1-1 draw at Modena, but medical tests showed no complications in addition to heavy bruising.
Defensive options at Inter are already limited due to the long-term injuries for Marco Materazzi and Francesco Coco.
