Milan, Inter and Chelsea are all preparing to make a bid for Roma star Emerson at the end of this season. The 27-year-old will be sold by the Italian outfit if no agreement is reached over a new contract. The Brazilian is currently tied to the side until 2005 and although Roma want to keep him, their financial situation may not allow that to happen. A host of clubs are known to be interested in the midfielder and are monitoring the situation closely. Chelsea want the player after they had a £28m bid rejected by the Olimpico outfit last summer. Yet Inter are ready to take them on by offering cash and Cristiano Zanetti, a player boss Fabio Capello likes after his previous spell in the capital. City rivals Milan are also likely to make an offer and hope to net him with the help of their Brazilian contingent. Reports claim that Marcos Cafu, Nelson Dida and Kaka are all trying to convince the midfielder to join them at the San Siro. However, the frosty relationship between Roma chief Franco Sensi and Milan official Adriano Galliani may prove a stumbling block. Emerson's agent Gilmar Veloz, who will meet with Roma director general Franco Baldini on Wednesday, also revealed that another unnamed English side have made contact. "There are a lot of clubs interested," said Gilmar. "Chelsea are not the only ones in England who want him. Yet I will speak to Roma about these things."
