Dejan Stankovic is on the brink of a move from Lazio to Inter Milan. The 25-year-old Serbia and Montenegro international's future has been in doubt since talks over a new contract broke down. "The transfer is not far off," Lazio president Ugo Longo told Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday. "I met [Inter president Giacinto] Facchetti this morning and we're moving in the right direction. There are still a few details to be sorted out." Stankovic's current deal expires in June and the cash-strapped Serie A club would rather sell now than lose one of its top players for nothing at the end of the season. When asked if Dutch defender Jaap Stam would shortly be following Stankovic out of Rome, Longo said: "He's not going anywhere until June."
