Lazio’s much wanted stopper Jaap Stam has fuelled speculation that his next club will be Inter. Newspaper talk in the peninsula claims that Milan, Juventus and Inter are all keen on him but the Dutchman seems to have a favourite. "It is true that I have received offers from all the important Italian clubs," he told Dutch newspaper ‘De Telegraaf’ over the weekend. "I personally prefer the Nerazzurri because they are looking to offer me a relatively short deal. "The others are ready to give me long contracts but that doesn’t correspond with my needs as I want to end my career in Holland with Heerenveen." However, any move for the former Manchester United defender will probably have to wait until the summer. That is because the Roman club have again declared that the international will not be sold in January. "Stam won’t move," said general director Giuseppe De Mita. "We must consider the club’s finances, but we can't disregard the technical aspect and the team's needs."
