Christian Vieri has looked to end the mass speculation regarding his future by committing himself to Inter.
There have been constant rumours over the last few months that the striker is set for a summer departure but the player himself doesn’t seem so keen.
"I’m aware of the football system," he said on Wednesday. "One day your are at one club and the next you can be at another.
"Yet it is my intention to stay here. I’m happy with Inter but we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
"At the end of the season I will meet with President Massimo Moratti, as I always do, and he’ll tell me what is in store for me. He’s always kept me in the past."
There seemed to be two main reasons why Vieri could be about to leave. The first is down to the relationship he has with some sections of the fans.
The second is the arrival of Parma striker Adriano which has led to concerns that the two men can’t play together.
However, he put those ‘problems’ to one side yesterday as he netted his 100th goal for the club in the 3-1 win over Lecce.
"I was really looking to reach that tally," he added. "It was an important objective for me to achieve.
"I was so happy that I even celebrated. But I want to underline again that I have no problems with the fans. They pay for their ticket so they have the right to express their feelings."
His teammates were also pleased with Vieri’s achievement as they placed a crown on his head during his goal celebration.
"It was a joke between the squad," he explained. "It was all down to Marco Materazzi. He’s been stressing me out for the last two months about this 100 goal mark."
