Inter have again maintained that it is their intention to keep hold of star striker Christian Vieri. The forward yesterday revealed that he would be happy to stay with the Nerazzurri and the club are ready to meet his desire. "Every year there is talk that he could be sold but it always ends in the same manner," said Inter President Massimo Moratti. "Therefore we will continue with our collaboration which is of great use to us. We would be delighted to keep him and we hope he feels the same way." There were doubts over Vieri’s future given the fact that Inter will have Adriano in their side next season. Can they co-exist? "That is a problem for the Coach to sort out," added Moratti. "However, I want to see how many problems that partnership will cause other sides." Moratti was also asked about the possibility of his outfit spending any money in the January transfer window. "There is no significant work going on," he maintained. "There is a lot of talk saying that numerous players, such as Dejan Stankovic, will arrive. "But this squad seems to have the ability to do well until the summer. Therefore I think we will stay as we are." The millionaire owner also praised city rivals Milan for opening up the title race with a 2-1 win at Roma. "It was a result that shortened the table even if a draw would have been the best result for us," he stated. "But Milan played well, they proved they are a good side."
