Inter boss Alberto Zaccheroni is pessimistic that the January transfer window will be used by his club.
The Nerazzurri have been linked with numerous players in the New Year but he feels that any arrivals are unlikely.
"I don’t believe in the January transfer window," he said after his side lost 2-1 at Lazio. "I’m happy with my squad as it is."
The San Siro giants have specifically been associated with January swoops for Lazio’s Dejan Stankovic and Adriano of Parma.
"I’ve not been informed regarding the arrival of anybody," maintained the former Milan boss.
"However, if the opportunity to sign a great player was there then I’m sure we would evaluate it.
"Even if I do think that it would be difficult for any player to settle quickly at a club if he moves in January."
Reports also suggest that Inter are keen to land Lazio stopper Jaap Stam in the next six months.
However, whispers say that Juventus transfer guru Luciano Moggi has already reached an agreement with his agent Vinicio Fioranelli.
Stam will almost certainly be sold next summer as his contract, which Lazio will find tough to extend, expires in 2005.
