TRIFFICK There is fresh speculation in Italy on Monday that Edgar Davids has agreed to join Inter next summer. The Juventus player has six months left on his contract which will make him a free agent at the end of this season. Roma and Barcelona were being heavily linked with the Dutchman but the San Siro outfit seem in pole position according to Italian journalists. Reports in the peninsula claim that Davids’ representative has already held talks with the Nerazzurri. Robert Gerling is understood to have reached an agreement with Massimo Moratti over a three-year deal worth £2m a season. Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are being linked with a move for Santos teenager Ribas Diego. The 18-year-old attacking midfielder is also of interest to Premiership side Tottenham who have been tracking him for months. Inter have again been associated with a January move for David Pizarro of Udinese who is currently at odds with his club.
