Perugia wingback Jose Ze Maria is at the centre of a transfer battle between Inter and Roma. The Brazilian only has six months left on his present deal with the Umbrian club which may lead to a January sale for a nominal fee. Inter were the first to be linked with a New Year swoop but the Giallorossi have recently entered the chase. Roma boss Fabio Capello sees the former Parma ace as ideal cover for Amantino Mancini on the right. Perugia could be ready to do business if the capital outfit agree to send Gaetano D’Agostino on loan in return. The Under-21 international is struggling to feature with the side and he’s already been linked with a January switch to Bologna. Ze Maria, now 30, has been at the Stadio Renato Curi since his September 2000 switch from Palmeiras.
