Alberto Zaccheroni has asked his men to remember balance is key to beating Lokomotiv Moscow this evening.
“Lokomotiv are a complete team with a packed midfield that protects the defence,” he noted after watching tapes of Inter’s shock 3-0 defeat in Russia.
“In some ways they are similar to the Roma line-up that we drew with at the San Siro last week. I think they will retain that style even when playing away from home.”
Assistant Coach Corrado Verdelli was on the bench during that Moscow match, just days after the surprise sacking of Hector Cuper.
The team appears to have settled down following that earthquake and is beginning to accept Zac’s teachings.
“I don’t know what happened in Russia,” he added, “but I think the lads were trying to prove a point and that made the team unbalanced.”
“We are all more relaxed now and gathered four points from our two Serie A games together."
"Now everyone must work to retain that psychological level ground rather than get too excited after a win and too downhearted following defeat.”
The Nerazzurri remain top of their Champions’ League group thanks to a splendid start, but must get back on track following their 3-0 mauling in Moscow.
“Lokomotiv is the kind of team that needs to be attacked with pace. We must be clear-headed and have patience, but at the same time strike them when the moment arises. Obviously,” he concluded, “there is only one objective here and that is to win.”
Francesco Coco is out of action due to a muscular problem, so Jeremie Brechet should step in to the left flank.
