Arsenal's Sol Campbell will face a Football Association disciplinary hearing on Wednesday to answer a charge of violent conduct. Campbell has asked for a personal hearing to explain his challenge on Manchester United's Eric Djemba-Djemba in the Community Shield. He kicked out at Djemba-Djemba in an incident which was missed by referee Steve Bennett but picked up by television cameras. Campbell will face the hearing 24 hours before he is scheduled to fly out to Turkey with England's squad for the vital Euro 2004 qualifier. He faces a three-match ban if found guilty. Eight charged over bust-up Arsenal would then have to decide whether to accept any suspension or to appeal, running the risk of losing Campbell at the same time as the six players charged with misconduct following the Premiership clash with United. The 28-year-old was reported to have threatened to quit international football over what he saw as a vendetta against him by the FA. He missed the final four games of last season - including the FA Cup final - after being sent off for lashing out at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the 2-2 draw with title rivals Manchester United. And he has already served a one-match ban for his red card for a professional foul in the 2-1 victory over Everton at Highbury on the opening day of the season.
