Great Britain's Chris Draper and Simon Hiscocks have moved into silver medal position in the 49er class sailing.
The pair finished second in race 11 and fourth in race 12 to edge the Ukraine duo in third place although both teams are on the same points.
There are 16 races altogether, with the final race due to be run on Thursday.
Meanwhile, British windsurfer Nick Dempsey has a lot to do to secure a medal in the Mistral event despite claiming victory in race nine.
Dempsey ended the 10th race in sixth place to hold onto his overall in fourth place overall, but the windsurfers above him in the standings pulled away from him.
He is 10 points behind current third-placed windsurfer Greece's Nikolaos Kaklamanakis with one race to go.
There was also slight improvement for British duo Leigh McMillan and Mark Bulkeley in the tornado, their seventh-place lifting them to 14th overall.
However, the pair will be disappointed after they were hit by an ill-timed wind shift that dropped them from third place in Monday's race.
Dempsey finished his race 16 seconds ahead of Poland's Przemyslaw Miarczynski and stands a realistic chance of winning a Mistral medal with just two races to go.
