www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/nov30h.htmlItaly boss Marcello Lippi is confident his side will be among the top seeds for the World Cup draw despite their low ranking position. There are still doubts over whether the national side will be in the elite group, as a result of their last two disappointing tournaments and their 12th place in the latest FIFA classification. Although the former Juventus boss concedes the FIFA World Rankings do puzzle him, he is remaining optimistic. "I have spent the last 18 months trying to understand why we are still behind the likes of Turkey, Mexico and the USA," stated the tactician. "However, I think we will be among the top seeds for the tournament and that really is all that matters right now." The draw for next summer’s Finals in Germany will take place on the evening of Friday December 9. Meanwhile, Lippi has blasted the proposal by FIFA chief Sepp Blatter to abolish the playing of the national anthems before games. "I think it is madness," continued the Coach. "It is nice to listen to the anthem prior to matches, even if you don’t sing along with it." FORZA ITALIA 2006 ;D
