Serie A Week 21 - 21/1/05 (19.30 UK)
Stadio Giuseppe Meazza
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Although it would appear that the Scudetto race is over, Roberto Mancini will be determined to continue an 11-game unbeaten run with three points against an unpredictable Palermo side at the San Siro.
Inter were unconvincing against Treviso in midweek, but reduced Juventus' lead to eight points with a 1-0 win over rock-bottom Treviso thanks to Julio Cruz's seventh goal of the season. The Nerazzurri will have received encouragement from Juventus' draw with Chievo and know that they have to be there to take full advantage if the Old Lady slip up again.
Palermo boss Gigi Del Neri has regularly been under pressure from volatile club President Maurizio Zamparini and must have been greatly relieved after a 4-2 win over Parma in midweek won him another stay of execution.
However, the Sicilians are currently tenth and came into the season expecting to again qualify for the UEFA Cup. Del Neri needs results fast if he is to achieve that. All the Palermo tactician can ask his side for is a repeat of the heroics of Week 2's 3-2 victory in the home fixture between the two sides.
Mancini is still without Obafemi Martins who is on international duty at the African Nations Cup with Nigeria. Dejan Stankovic is still suspended and Ze' Maria, Alvaro Recoba and Marco Andreolli are all injured but Giuseppe Favalli returns.
The visitors are missing Stephen Makinwa who is at the African Cup, while Eugenio Corini and Mariano Gonzalez are suspended. Paul Codrea, Michele Ferri and Franco Brienza are all injured and goalkeeper Cristiano Lupatelli is not fully fit but may start.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Inter (probable): Julio Cesar; J Zanetti, Cordoba, Samuel, Favalli; Figo, Veron, Cambiasso; Kily Gonzalez, Cruz, Adriano
Palermo (probable): Lupatelli; Zaccardo, Terlizzi, Barzagli; Grosso, Bonanni, Mutarelli, Barone, Santana; Di Michele, Caracciolo
