www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/jan9h.htmlInter are in negotiations over the purchase of Brazilian starlet Rafael Sorbis, according to reports in Italy. Sorbis’ agent, Jorge Machado, is in Milan at present to discuss a deal that could see the 21-year-old move from Internacional de Porto Alegre to the San Siro side in the next few days. Machado - who co-owns the player’s registration with the Brazilian club - is asking somewhere in the region of £5.5m for the young striker, who impressed Nerazzurri scouts last summer in the Under-20 World Cup Finals. Sorbis has been compared to Roma striker Vincenzo Montella for his speed off the mark and eye for goal, and could go some way to appeasing Inter Coach Roberto Mancini’s recent complaints at Inter’s lack of movement in the transfer market. The signing of Chievo’s Victor Obinna hardly received a ringing endorsement from Mancio, who is eager to sign a natural striker while Obafemi Martins is away on international duty. "Obinna is good but he is still young," Mancio said. "What we need is a striker who scores simple goals." Sorbis is also still young but with 20 goals to his name already this season, he could just be the marksman Mancini is after.
