At least nine Palestinians, militants and civilians, have been killed in Israeli raids in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian medics say. Hamas forces are now in full control of the Gaza Strip About seven Palestinians were killed after Israeli tanks and bulldozers moved into an area east of Gaza City. Twenty others were injured. Two militants were also killed in clashes in Khan Yunis to the south. Israel's army confirmed shots had been fired at "terror threats" but it was still checking reports of casualties. Medical officials from Shifa hospital in Gaza City say in one incident an Israeli tank shell struck a house in the Shajiyeh district killing three members of one family, including a nine-year-old boy. The Israeli army has not confirmed the incident. Hamas radio had reported that one Islamic Jihad militant killed east of Gaza City had died during an air strike. Israel confirmed that it had launched military operations on the ground in the north and south of the Gaza Strip, but said it had not launched air raids. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/6243974.stm
