www.skysports.com/skysports/article/0,,7-1145053,00.html England coach Sven Goran Eriksson seems unruffled by talk in the national press that he is set to be axed. The Swede is believed to be under pressure after the Football Association called an extraordinary meeting to discuss whether Eriksson deceived them about an internal office affair. When news broke of Eriksson's affair with his secretary - who was also involved with FA chief executive Mark Palios - the FA stringently denied any wrongdoing on his behalf. However, once the story was confirmed as true - The FA had to backtrack and confirm that it did happen. The FA have already cleared Palios of any wrongdoing, while they are now to look into Eriksson's situation. Despite the ongoing talks about his future, his assistant Tord Grip insists that Eriksson is calm about his future as he never talked to the FA about his private life. "Sven is not concerned about his job," said Grip. "Nobody at the FA has said anything to him about losing his job." "He says they didn't ask him about what was happening in his private life. "He said he did not lie because nobody talked to him about this." Eriksson's agent Athole Still welcomed the FA's probe into recent events. "We are pleased there is going to be a proper investigation so this whole matter can be cleared up," said Still. The FA board - made up of 12 men from various parts of the game - will meet next Thursday, with speculation likely to continue until they have met.
