However, contrary to an earlier statement by the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), the date and ground have not been decided. An FAI spokesman said the match would probably take place in London between the Republic's planned games against Romania (27 May) and Holland (5 June). The Republic are also in talks about another friendly against Jamaica. Nigeria, who hope to line up their Europe-based stars, defeated the Republic 2-1 and Jamaica 1-0 as part of their preparations for the 2002 World Cup finals. Before the two games, Nigeria are expected to stage a four-day tournament with Senegal, Jordan and Libya from 28 April. The games will be to prepare Nigeria for their 2006 African Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifying campaign, which starts on 4 June, at home to Rwanda's Amavubi.
