Rock star Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon are to front an MTV contest in the US to find a new band for next year's Ozzfest tour.
Eight bands will compete on Battle for Ozzfest. The winner will also walk away with equipment and tour money.
"Ozzfest has been the launch pad for so many new acts, all who have gone on to multi-platinum success," said Sharon Osbourne of the live rock event.
Ozzfest is 10 years old in 2005. Battle for Ozzfest begins on 25 October.
Springboard for success
The winners of the MTV show may also be in line for a possible record deal.
Each episode will feature the eight bands being put through the everyday tasks of being on tour.
Slipknot went on to big success after Ozzfest
"Life on the road isn't always what it's cracked up to be and our bands are going to find that out, the hard way," said Sharon Osbourne.
Bands including System of a Down, Incubus and Slipknot have all performed at Ozzfest before making it big.
Ozzy's group Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Slayer, Throwdown and Devil Driver were among the bands that took part in the 2004 tour, which visited US cities including Boston, Seattle and Chicago.
Sharon Osbourne was the driving force behind reality TV show The Osbournes which earned the family $85m (£46m).
She recently topped a poll of the most important people in rock for her part in guiding the career of husband Ozzy and her family.
Kerrang! magazine said it had chosen Osbourne matriarch Sharon, who has recently undergone cancer treatment, because of her strong influence in steering the career of former Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy.
