A fresco dating from 1370 has been discovered on the wall of a museum in the Italian city of Siena.
The well-preserved painting came to light during renovation at the Santa Maria della Scala hospital museum.
Museum staff said the walls were covered over in the 17th Century when the building was turned into a hospital - and other frescoes could be found.
"We've only just begun restoration work and we think we'll be able to uncover many more," curator Anna Carli said.
The first discovery has been attributed to local artists Cristoforo di Bindoccio and Meo di Pero.
The museum, already one of the city's most popular tourist attractions, also has 15th Century wall paintings by Domenico Di Bartolo.
