Roman Abramovich has denied he is planning to buy the Jordan Formula One team.
The Russian billionaire, who owns Chelsea FC, has been linked with Eddie Jordan's team in recent media reports.
But his spokesman John Mann told the London Evening Standard newspaper on Tuesday: "There is nothing in this.
"It is true that Roman enjoys F1 and has met Eddie several times but that's it. We just want to lay all these rumours to rest."
Mann added: "At the moment Roman is being linked with bids to buy anything from a shopping centre to another football team.
"When anything is up for sale his name is being connected with it and it gets a little nasty after a time."
Since taking over Chelsea last year Abramovich has spent more than £100m on new players.
Jordan are the only F1 team with no confirmed drivers for the 2004 season starting in Australia in March.
They are waiting for sponsorship deals to slot into place before making any announcement about their 2004 line-up.
Abramovich has also been linked in past media speculation to struggling Minardi and Sauber, the other privately-owned teams in a sport dominated by major car manufacturers.
