Gianluca Vialli has insisted that he would find it difficult to take over at Tottenham after managing rivals Chelsea - but did offer his services as an interpreter if the club hired a fellow Italian.
Vialli is desperate to be given another chance in football - but the popular former Blues boss has dismissed suggestions that he could be on THFC' wanted list, admitting his first preference would be Juventus.
"You know for a person who trained Chelsea it would be very hard to go and coach a rival like Tottenham," said Vialli.
"If they take on [Roberto] Mancini or Trap [Giovanni Trapattoni] I could always be an interpreter!
"But seriously, I would like to keep trying to get a top job in Italy, but both Italy and England are nations that I love.
"I have received a few proposals from England and the Italian presidents haven't forgotten me.
"I would prefer to wait for a big club. I don't want to coach for the sake of it, I want to wait for the right opportunity.
"If Juventus call I am ready - but I certainly wouldn't turn down any big club."
One suggestion that has been mooted is as a successor to Trapattoni as Italy coach.
"This was something that got some headlines about a year ago," said Vialli, who also had an ignominious spell in charge of Watford.
"There were talks of a change but there wasn't so my candidacy meant nothing.
"There do seem to be a couple of candidates that seem better suited to the job."
Meanwhile, another Italian coach is likely to be linked with the THFC job.
Former Bologna coach Francesco Guidolin is rumoured by the Italian press to be on Tottenham's wanted list.
