Newcastle manager Sir Bobby Robson says he will listen to offers for Peruvian midfielder Nolberto Solano. Solano has been linked with a move to Aston Villa, but Robson said the Midlands club had yet to make a firm bid. "If an offer came in for Solano, then we would listen to it," said Robson. "There is something in the air with Villa but David O'Leary has not been on the phone to me and they've put no offer on the table." He added: "If there is genuine interest in one of my players, a club should come through the front door, not the back door." Solano upset his manager in October when he walked out of the club after being dropped from a Premiership game against Middlesbrough. The 29-year-old has started only 17 games for Newcastle this season, although he has recently reclaimed a first-team place.
