Two Premiership footballers who were questioned by police over allegations of rape have been named. Titus Bramble, 22, and 19-year-old Carlton Cole were questioned over the incident, alleged to have occurred at the Grosvenor House Hotel on 27 September. The pair have vigorously denied any wrongdoing. A file has been sent to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) following an investigation into the allegations made by a 17-year-old girl. The media are now able to identify the footballers after the Attorney General's office determined the identification process in the investigation was complete. Mr Bramble, who plays for Newcastle United, and Mr Cole, who is on loan to Charlton from Chelsea, were arrested and questioned on 19 October. The two players were released on bail after providing police with DNA samples. A total of four men were arrested during the investigation, but none have so far been charged with any offence. A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police said: "A file on the investigation has been sent to the Crown Prosecution for consideration. "A decision on whether charges will follow will be made in due course."
