www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/jul22e.htmlJavier Zanetti has revealed that he is optimistic that Inter will be a success next season. The Nerazzurri skipper’s leadership qualities have been called into question during the summer months, but Zanetti is unfazed by the comments. He has now returned to pre-season training and is setting his sights on a season to remember. “We'll talk and from tomorrow we'll all train together to try and win as much as possible,” Zanetti told Inter.it. “This starts with the Champions’ League qualifiers and the Italian Super Cup, which us and the club really want to win.” Zanetti is also boosted by the arrival of fellow countryman Santiago Solari, as well as the potential signing of Walter Samuel from Real Madrid. “We've known each other for many years and it's a pleasure to find so many national teammates at Inter,” Zanetti continued. “I also spoke to Samuel during the Confederations Cup. He told me how happy he was that a club like Inter was interested in him, but he hadn't heard anything from Madrid." Another of his compatriots, Juan Veron, has seen his place come under threat because of the arrival of David Pizarro. “They're two great champions and two very intelligent boys. “They will do very well together, and it's Roberto Mancini who will decide how to use them,” he concluded.
