www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/jul18d.htmlInter have reportedly convinced Michael Ballack to leave Bayern Munich for the San Siro outfit in the summer of 2006. The German international will be a free agent next July and he has already hinted that he is looking for a new club. "I am very happy here but I think the time has arrived for me to try playing for a great European club," he recently stated. "It is a question of stimulus." Stories in the peninsula on Monday morning claim that the Nerazzurri have already struck a deal with the central midfielder. The former Bayer Leverkusen sensation, who has spent the last five years with Bayern, has been tempted by Inter’s three-year contract offer. Ballack, who will be hoping to lead his country to World Cup glory next summer, has been linked with Inter in the past. It is believed that Ballack has been targeted given that Juan Sebastian Veron has made no secret of his desire to return to Argentina in 12 months. Nerazzurri fans will be hoping that Ballack can make as a big an impact as Lothar Matthaus. The legendary German helped the club win their last Scudetto in 1989.
